Daher today announced that Richard Montanel has joined the Group’s Industry division, with responsibility for leading the operations at the company’s Tarbes, France industrial site, as well as managing this large facility in southwestern France.
He is responsible for continuing the transformation of the Tarbes site and strengthening its position within the Daher Group. Montanel will draw on his technical and managerial expertise to deploy the strategic objectives of Daher’s Take Off 2027 five-year plan.
Heading up the Tarbes facility’s Industry operations effective today, he also joins the Industry Division management committee under the supervision of Alain-Jory Barthe, Daher’s Senior Vice President – Industry.
The Tarbes site is one of Daher’s largest industrial locations, building aerostructures for leading producers of commercial aircraft, helicopters and business jets. Covering a 53-hectare (128-acre) site adjacent to Tarbes–Lourdes–Pyrénées Airport, it includes 11 assembly lines for its aerostructures production.
A graduate in materials engineering from France’s École Polytech’ Marseille, Montanel possesses solid industrial expertise, which has been developed particularly in the aerospace sector. With over 20 years’ experience, he has evolved within major companies, where Montanel held key positions in production management and international site management.
He began his career in 2004 at Corse Composites Aéronautique as a development engineer. Montanel then joined the Latécoère Group in 2005, where he held a number of management positions – notably at Letov in Prague, Czech Republic, before taking over management of Latécoère’s Toulouse-Montredon site in France. During his career, he led strategic projects in the fields of aerostructures and composite materials.
